The Kipping Pull-Up

Basic description of a Kipping Pull-Up: While hanging from a bar elevate the center of mass until chin is above the bar

Performing the Kipping Pull-up

  1. Reach up and with a closed grip grab the pull up bar (hands outside the shoulders)
  2. Protect the shoulder cavity by slightly depressing the shoulders (this will activate the lats)
  3. Tight mid-section
  4. Pull yourself up so that the chin is higher than the bar
  5. Lower yourself down with control but NOT slowly so that the arms are completely locked out at the bottom
